Mold Yourself into Your Full Potential

Standard

Parents can only give good advice or put them on the right paths, but the final forming of a person’s character lies in their own hands.” – Anne Frank

Far too often I think we rely on the image that others have of us or rely on the hopes that others have placed on us to use as guidelines for how we see ourselves and how we choose to live our lives. We all need to be reminded that although brought up and molded by our households or our communities, everything that we are capable of and all of the paths we should take in life are contained within us–just waiting for us to realize our own true potential and purpose.

Find Your Way

Standard

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” – the Bible, John 14:6

“The way is not in the sky. The way is in the heart.” —Buddha

Through these two passages that are so identical in their differences, we are reminded that what we have within and before us, is peace and salvation. Tap into it, go after it!

Meditate on Order and Guidance

Standard

what lies within usGreetings all! Today’s Soul Food is a very powerful song/prayer (audio link below) that I think we all must learn, no mater what faith we serve. When we meditate on guidance and direction and ask for direction and order, we can transform our lives and be useful in transforming the lives of others. I think we all can agree that this world needs more divine order from a positive place:

“Order my steps in your word dear Lord,
Lead me, guide me everyday,
Send your anointing, Father I pray;
Order my steps in your word,
Please, order my steps in your word.

Humbly, I ask thee to teach me your will,
While you are working, help me be still,
Though satan is busy, God is real;
Order my steps in your word,
Please, order my steps in your word.

Bridle my tongue let my words edify,
Let the words of my mouth be acceptable in thy sight,
Take charge of my thoughts both day and night;
Order my steps in your word,
Please order my steps in your word.

I want to walk worthy,
My calling to fulfill.
Please order my steps lord,
And I’ll do your blessed will.
The world is ever-changing,
But you are still the same;
If you order my steps, I’ll praise your name.

Order my steps in your word.
Order my tongue in your word.
Guide my feet in your word.
Wash my heart in your word.
Show me how to walk in your word.
Show me how to talk in your word.
When I need a brand new song to sing,
Show me how to let your praises ring,
In your word

Please order my steps in your word.

Please order my steps in your word.
Please order my tongue in your word.
Please guide my feet in your word.
Please wash my heart in your word.
Please order my steps in your word.”
